More details about this report...
At around
mid-way through each trading day we run
a screen against our database of
high-ranked stocks, searching for
possible buy candidates that are trading
at or near their 52-week high on above
average volume. The results of that
screen are split into the two sections
you see below. The first, titled
"TODAY's FEATURED STOCKS" shows stocks
that our experts have recently
identified as among the strongest candidates to
consider. Stocks highlighted in yellow
are the most timely and noteworthy, so
particular attention and prompt action
may be appropriate. The second section,
titled "TODAY's BREAKOUT SCREEN" shows
the remainder of stocks meeting today's
screen parameters. Our experts have
reviewed and included notes on these
stocks as well, but found that they may
not match up as favorably.

Most Recent Note for AAP - 11/10/2011 12:15:23 PM
Volume-driven gain today has it approaching its 52-week high. Went through a deep consolidation below its 200 DMA line since last noted in the 5/17/11 mid-day report noted - "Recent quarterly comparisons showed strong earnings, however sub par sales revenues growth has been a concern while increases have been in the +7-11% range. Autozone Inc (AZO) and similar players (MNRO & ORLY) in the auto-repair arena have been noted in recent months while consumers have been fixing their old cars instead of buying new cars they cannot afford."

Most Recent Note for BBBY - 11/10/2011 12:17:52 PM
Pulling back from a new 52-week high hit after wedging to new highs this week without great volume conviction behind its recent gains. There is no remaining resistance due to overhead supply. Reported earnings +33% on +8% sales revenues for the quarter ended August 31, 2011 versus the year ago period. It had slumped near its 200 DMA line and found support near that important long-term average during its consolidation since noted in the 6/24/11 mid-day report - "Quarterly earnings increases have been above the +25% guideline in the past 6 comparisons, however sales revenues increases have been in the 11-13% range over the past year. A downturn in FY '09 earnings is a flaw concerning the A criteria."

Reported earnings +65% on +38% sales revenues for the quarter ended September 30, 2011 versus the year ago period. Most Recent Note for GOLD - 11/10/2011 12:24:54 PM
Pulling back after touching a new all-time high this week while wedging upward without great volume conviction following a sloppy 6-week consolidation. No overhead supply remains to act as resistance. This UK-headquartered firm in the Mining - Gold/Silver/Gems group showed very strong sales revenues and earnings increases in the Mar, Jun, and Sep '11 quarterly comparisons much greater than the +25% minimum guideline following sub par Dec '10 quarterly results. Up and down annual earnings (A criteria) history is a concern.
