More details about this report...
At around
mid-way through each trading day we run
a screen against our database of
high-ranked stocks, searching for
possible buy candidates that are trading
at or near their 52-week high on above
average volume. The results of that
screen are split into the two sections
you see below. The first, titled
"TODAY's FEATURED STOCKS" shows stocks
that our experts have recently
identified as among the strongest candidates to
consider. Stocks highlighted in yellow
are the most timely and noteworthy, so
particular attention and prompt action
may be appropriate. The second section,
titled "TODAY's BREAKOUT SCREEN" shows
the remainder of stocks meeting today's
screen parameters. Our experts have
reviewed and included notes on these
stocks as well, but found that they may
not match up as favorably.

Hit a new 52-week high today while on track for its 5th consecutive gain. Quarterly comparisons have shown sub par earnings increases in the June and September 2011 quarterly comparisons versus the year ago period(s). Downturn in FY '08 earnings is a flaw concerning the A criteria.

Touched a new 52-week high today following a solid gap up gain on the prior session after holding its ground since the previously noted 11/03/11 volume-driven gain. Reporting earnings +56% on +3% sales revenues for the quarter ended September 30, 2011 versus the year ago period. Sub par sales revenues growth and its up and down annual earnings (A criteria) history are fundamental concerns.

Inching higher for another new all-time high today, however it is currently too extended from any sound base pattern to be considered an ideal buy candidate. It rebounded after previously noted technical damage and rallied to new highs, then found support above its 50 DMA line during its consolidation since last noted in the 11/02/11 mid-day report. Quarterly and annual earnings history makes it a good match with the C and A criteria.

Touched another new 52-week high today after a gap up on the prior session and rally to new all-time high territory. Last noted in the 10/21/11 mid-day report - "Reported earnings +12% on +14% sales revenues for the quarter ended September 30, 2011. Rebounded from under its 50 DMA line when last noted in the 10/04/11 mid-day report - 'The global burger giant's stock is viewed as a "safe haven" and longtime favorite for some institutional investors, however, with 1.04 billion shares outstanding it is unlikely to be a sprinter capable of many-fold price increases. Earnings increases in the quarterly comparisons have not met the +25% minimum guideline, and sales revenues increases have been sub par.'"

Gapped up today and hit a new 52-week high. Went through another deep consolidation way below its 50 and 200 DMA lines since last noted in the 6/03/11 mid-day report - "Perched above its 50 DMA line today after challenging stubborn resistance in the $17 area with a volume-driven gap up gain on the prior session. Sales revenues and earnings have not shown strong steady increases, and a loss in FY '10 is a flaw in the annual earnings (A criteria) history."

Inched higher for a new 52-week high today. Prior mid-day reports noted - "Recent volume-driven gains helped it rally up the right side of a deep 15-week cup shaped base. After years of operating losses (bad A criteria) it has reported solid earnings backed by huge sales revenues increases versus much smaller revenues and year-ago losses in the 3 latest quarterly comparisons through Sep '11.
