More details about this report...
At around
mid-way through each trading day we run
a screen against our database of
high-ranked stocks, searching for
possible buy candidates that are trading
at or near their 52-week high on above
average volume. The results of that
screen are split into the two sections
you see below. The first, titled
"TODAY's FEATURED STOCKS" shows stocks
that our experts have recently
identified as among the strongest candidates to
consider. Stocks highlighted in yellow
are the most timely and noteworthy, so
particular attention and prompt action
may be appropriate. The second section,
titled "TODAY's BREAKOUT SCREEN" shows
the remainder of stocks meeting today's
screen parameters. Our experts have
reviewed and included notes on these
stocks as well, but found that they may
not match up as favorably.

Perched near its 52-week high today on track for a 4th consecutive gain backed by above average volume. No resistance remains due to overhead supply, but its deep "V" shaped consolidation is not a sound base pattern. Limited earnings track record, and there has been erratic price action since its $19 IPO on 6/19/11.

Stubbornly holding its ground with volume totals cooling since gapping up and hitting new 52-week and all-time highs when last noted in the 10/27/11 mid-day report - "Reported earnings +28% on +8% sales revenues for the latest quarter ended September 30, 2011 versus the year ago period. Quarterly earnings increases had decelerated to below the +25% range in the Mar and Jun '11 quarters and sales revenues have been in the +5-13% range in the past 8 quarterly comparisons versus the year ago periods. Several auto-parts firms are showing concurrent leadership, which is a common theme whenever economic conditions pressure more consumers into repairing their clunkers rather than buying new cars they cannot afford. Its annual earnings history has been sluggish (A criteria)."

Matched its 52-week high today, inching higher on the right side of a 17-week cup shaped base during which it found support near its 200 DMA line. Recent quarterly comparisons showed strong sales and earnings increases. A downturn in FY '10 earnings is a flaw concerning the A criteria. Due to report earnings on Tuesday, November 8th. Noted in the 6/27/11 mid-day report - "Earnings history has been erratic and not a good match with the fact-based investment system's guidelines. The Building - Heavy Construction firm is one of the largest specialty contractors and engineering companies in the Western United States primarily serving the growing power and energy sectors."

Small gap up today has it within close striking distance of its 52-week high after a deep "V" shaped consolidation over the past 8 weeks, not a sound base pattern. Leadership in the Mining - Gold/Silver/Gems group (L criteria) has helped it rally among numerous other gold mining firms showing recent strength. Recent quarterly comparisons show sales revenues and earnings improvement, but its prior earnings history is below the investment system guidelines.

Inching higher with less volume conviction, it touched yet another new 52-week high today after recent volume-driven gains helped it rally up the right side of a deep 15-week cup shaped base. After years of operating losses (bad A criteria) it has reported solid earnings backed by huge sales revenues increases versus much smaller revenues and year-ago losses in the 3 latest quarterly comparisons through Sep '11.

Perched at its 52-week high today after 4 consecutive gains. Found support at its 50 DMA line during its short "V" shaped consolidation where it dipped more than -20% since noted on 9/19/11 when hitting its all-time high following a streak of volume-driven gains. Its fundamentals (C and A criteria) remain strong, but as noted in prior mid-day reports - "It has not formed a sound base pattern, yet it is quickly rebounding following a deep consolidation near its 200 DMA line after it was dropped from the Featured Stocks list on 8/04/11. It rallied +200% since first featured in yellow at $22.81 in the 3/12/10 mid-day report."

Paused today after 3 consecutive gains with above average volume to new 52-week and all-time highs. Technically it broke out after reporting earnings +25% on +18% sales revenues for the quarter ended September 30, 2011 versus the year ago period, but the 11/02/11 mid-day report cautioned - "Prior comparisons were just under the +25% earnings guideline while it showed slight sales and earnings acceleration, and its annual earnings (A criteria) history is good. No resistance remains due to overhead supply as it is inching above multi-month resistance in the $35 area."
