More details about this report...
At around
mid-way through each trading day we run
a screen against our database of
high-ranked stocks, searching for
possible buy candidates that are trading
at or near their 52-week high on above
average volume. The results of that
screen are split into the two sections
you see below. The first, titled
"TODAY's FEATURED STOCKS" shows stocks
that our experts have recently
identified as among the strongest candidates to
consider. Stocks highlighted in yellow
are the most timely and noteworthy, so
particular attention and prompt action
may be appropriate. The second section,
titled "TODAY's BREAKOUT SCREEN" shows
the remainder of stocks meeting today's
screen parameters. Our experts have
reviewed and included notes on these
stocks as well, but found that they may
not match up as favorably.

Most Recent Note for AUY - 9/2/2011 12:10:48 PM
Gapped up today and hit a new 52-week high, on track for its 5th consecutive weekly gain. It has recently wedged higher, but it is extended from any sound base following prior volume-driven gains above stubborn resistance in the $13 area. Quarterly sales revenues and earnings increases in the 4 latest comparisons through June 30, 2011 were well above the +25% guideline satisfying the C criteria. The downturn in FY '09 earnings is a fundamental flaw concerning the A criteria. With respect to the I criteria, the number of top rated funds owning its shares fell from 911 in Mar '11 to 861 in Jun '11. It survived but failed to impress since 4/23/2008 when it was dropped from the Featured Stocks list and subsequently fell from $13 to $3 over the next 6 months. First it had traded up as much as +25.4% after it was first featured at $15.89 in the February 2008 CANSLIM.net News (read here).

Most Recent Note for GOLD - 9/2/2011 12:15:38 PM
Gapped up today, and it has been consolidating after spiking to a new all-time high last week. This UK-headquartered firm in the Mining - Gold/Silver/Gems group recently tallied 9 consecutive weekly gains and it has no overhead supply remaining to act as resistance. Prior mid-day reports repeatedly noted - "Sales revenues and earnings increases in the Mar '11 and Jun '11 quarterly comparisons have been much greater than the +25% minimum guideline following sub par Dec '10 quarterly results. Up and down annual earnings (A criteria) history is also a concern."

Most Recent Note for JAZZ - 9/2/2011 12:22:05 PM
Holding its ground after reaching a new all-time high this week following a choppy 5-week consolidation that was not recognized as a sound base pattern. There is no overhead supply remaining to act as resistance. Reported earnings +193% on +59% sales revenues for the quarter ended June 30, 2011. Technically it found support near prior highs during its quiet consolidation after noted in the 7/14/11 mid-day report when rising from a cup-with-handle pattern. FY '10 was its first ever profitable year, while the A criteria calls for a strong 3-5 year earnings growth history. Recent quarterly comparisons showed greatly improved sales revenues and earnings increases. The Medical - Ethical Drugs firm rose 80-fold from its low of $0.52 in April 2009. Ownership by top-rated funds rose from 117 in Jun '10 to 244 in Jun '11, a reassuring sign concerning the I criteria.

Holding its ground following a considerable volume-driven gain on the prior session. It blasted to new 52-week and all-time highs on news it will buy operations from Jacobs Trading for up to $170 Million. LQDT slumped below its 50 DMA line since last noted in the 8/03/11 mid-day report when hitting its prior high -"Its sub par fundamentals are below the investment system guidelines. On 2/28/08 it was dropped from the CANSLIM.net Featured Stocks list and fundamentals subsequently turned south."

Small gap up today amid widespread strength and leadership (L criteria) in the Mining - Gold/Silver/Gems group. Earnings history over the past 3 quarterly comparisons is not a match with the fact-based investment system's guidelines. Prior mid-day reports noted - "Rallying within close striking distance of its 2010 high ($65.50) level that may act as resistance. It sputtered below its 200 DMA line for several months while slumping after it was dropped from the Featured Stocks list on 11/16/10."

Still stubbornly holding its ground perched at its 52-week high today with no resistance remaining due to overhead supply.
