Y - This high-ranked leader in the Finance - Consumer Loans industry is thinly traded (33,300 shares average daily volume) and has a small supply (S criteria) of shares outstanding. Strong earnings history satisfies the C and A criteria. It is consolidating near its 50 DMA line which defines important support along with recent lows near $75. A subsequent gain above its pivot point with heavy volume would trigger a technical buy signal, meanwhile it has formed a sound new base pattern of sufficient length and its color coded is changed to yellow with a pivot point based on its 52-week high plus 10 cents.

Pulling back from its 52-week high, extended from any sound base. Tallied 16 gains in the span of 17 sessions. Volume-driven gains in the past 4 weeks helped it gradually rise from an orderly base pattern since the 5/05/11 mid-day report noted - "Group RS rating currently is D, not reassuring concerning the L criteria. Earnings increase of +46% for the Mar '11 quarter was the first comparison in more than 2 years with a better than +25% increase."

Gapped up and hit another new 52-week high today while trading within 25 cents of is all-time high, yet it is well off the session's high now. BPI was noted in the 5/26/11 mid-day report when pulling back following a gap and technical breakout from a "cup-with-high-handle" type base - "Since it was dropped from the Featured Stocks list on 5/25/10 it maintained strong sales revenues and earnings increases (good C & A criteria) while the shares slumped from around $21 to $12 and then rebounded. Technically it broke out from a 'double bottom' type base pattern with its gap up on 5/03/11, yet it still faces resistance due to overhead supply up through the $27 area."

Gapped up today, hitting a new high and making it a constructive week. Found support above its 50 DMA line while consolidating above previously stubborn resistance in the $73 area. Recent quarterly comparisons show slight sales revenues acceleration and better earnings increases, but a downturn in FY '09 earnings is a flaw concerning the A criteria of the fact-based investment system. Prior mid-day reports noted - "Sales revenues and earnings history make the fundamentals questionable for this aerospace/defense firm."

Inched up for another new 52-week and all-time highs (above its 2007 high) today with yet another volume-driven gain. Held its ground in a tight range in recent weeks but it is currently extended from any sound base pattern. Noted in prior mid-day reports - "Disciplined investors may watch for secondary buy points or a sound new base to develop and be noted in the weeks ahead. Sales revenues and earnings increases (C criteria) have shown impressive acceleration in recent quarterly comparisons. Concern were previously noted because its annual earnings (A criteria) history was up and down, yet recent fundamental and technical action has been a better match for winning models of the fact-based investment system."
