Most Recent Note for AAPL - 3/19/2012 12:05:38 PM
Perched at its all-time high today. It could go on to produce more climactic gains, however, this well-known tech leader is very extended from any sound base pattern, making it a risky candidate. Prior notes acknowledged the considerable rally since the previously noted "breakaway gap" on 1/25/12 from an advanced "3-weeks tight" base pattern. Churning heavy volume after a spurt of volume-driven gains to a new 52-week high. The 3/09/12 mid-day report noted - "Gapped up and hit a new 52-week high today with a considerable volume-driven gain. Recent quarterly comparisons showed greatly improved earnings but the lack of sales revenues growth and erratic annual earnings (A criteria) history are fundamental flaws. Low-priced stocks are discouraged from consideration under the fact-based system unless all key criteria are solidly satisfied."

Holding its ground and rising since its considerable 3/13/12 gap up gain after providing encouraging guidance. Held its ground following a previously noted 3/07/12 gap up gain with heavy volume for a new 52-week high after an analyst upgrade. Prior mid-day reports noted - "Fundamentals still are not a match with the investment system's guidelines. It survived but failed to impress since noted in the 10/14/09 mid-day report - 'Poor annual earnings history.'"

Hitting another new high today with above average volume behind a second consecutive gain. Last noted in the 3/02/12 mid-day report _ "Volume-driven gains this week helped it break out of a 9-month base pattern, technically clear of all resistance due to overhead supply. Its 50 DMA line acted as support since noted in the 2/10/12 mid-day report - 'Reported earnings +114% on +30% sales revenues for the quarter ended December 31, 2011 versus the year ago period. Earnings rose +89% on +32% sales revenues for the latest quarter ended September 30, 2011 versus the year ago period. Prior quarterly and annual earnings (A criteria) history has been below the investment system's guidelines. Guidelines also suggest avoiding low priced stocks unless all key criteria are solidly satisfied. This Israeli Computer Software - Enterprise firm survived but failed to impress since noted in the 7/23/09 mid-day report.'"

Gapped up today after holding its ground and wedging higher since the previously noted gap up gain with heavy volume for a new 52-week high which cleared an 11-week "double bottom" base pattern on 2/28/12. The 3/05/12 mid-day report noted - "Recent quarters shown better than +25% earnings however sales revenues increases have been sub par. Annual earnings (A criteria) showed a downturn in FY '07 and '08."

Quietly consolidating near all-time highs with no resistance remaining due to overhead supply. Recent quarterly comparisons and earnings had improved greatly, but the Oct '11 period showed earnings +11% on +8% sales revenues, below the guidelines of the fact-based system, and a downturn in FY '08 & '09 annual earnings (A criteria) history is another fundamental flaw.

It has steadily advanced in recent weeks and it is extended from any sound base. Last noted in the 1/31/12 mid-day report - "Technically it broke out on 11/30/11 with a volume-driven gain and it has been wedging to new 52-week and all-time highs in recent weeks with small gains lacking great volume conviction. It completed Public Offerings on 3/22/11 and 10/19/11. Quarterly comparisons have shown strong sales revenues and earnings increases satisfying the C criteria. A downturn in FY '09 earnings is a flaw concerning the A criteria."

Still holding its ground since its gap down on 3/06/12 after a proposed Public Offering when the mid-day report noted - "Encountering distributional pressure after recently reaching a new 52-week high. Earnings increases have been strong in recent quarterly comparisons while sales revenues have been in the +7-10% range. Rebounded from a deep slump below its 200 DMA line in the interim since last noted in the 8/15/11 mid-day report - 'No overhead supply remains to act as resistance. Adding to its recent spurt of volume-driven gains and touching another new 52-week high today. Found support above its 50 DMA line during the recent consolidation. Reported earnings +28% on +20% sales revenues for the quarter ended December 31, 2011 versus the year ago period. Prior comparisons were at or just under the +25% minimum earnings guideline while it showed slight sales and earnings acceleration, and its annual earnings (A criteria) history is good.
