More details about this report...
At around
mid-way through each trading day we run
a screen against our database of
high-ranked stocks, searching for
possible buy candidates that are trading
at or near their 52-week high on above
average volume. The results of that
screen are split into the two sections
you see below. The first, titled
"TODAY's FEATURED STOCKS" shows stocks
that our experts have recently
identified as among the strongest candidates to
consider. Stocks highlighted in yellow
are the most timely and noteworthy, so
particular attention and prompt action
may be appropriate. The second section,
titled "TODAY's BREAKOUT SCREEN" shows
the remainder of stocks meeting today's
screen parameters. Our experts have
reviewed and included notes on these
stocks as well, but found that they may
not match up as favorably.

Consolidating within close range of its all-time high. Found support at its 200 DMA line again during the latest consolidation from its prior high hit when noted in the 9/20/11 mid-day report. It has a good annual earnings (A criteria) history. Its past 2 quarterly comparisons (Mar and Jun '11) showed earnings per share increases greater than the +25% minimum increase expected under the investment system's guidelines, however sales revenues growth has decelerated Ownership by top-rated funds rose from 731 in Mar '11 to 807 in Sep '11, a reassuring sign concerning the I criteria.

Perched within close striking distance of its 52-week high today. Rebounded from a slump below its 50 and 200 DMA lines while consolidating since noted in the 7/25/11 mid-day report following a "breakaway gap" for a new 52-week high. Reported earnings +124% on +13% sales revenues for the quarter ended September 30, 2011. Recent quarters showed strong earnings increases versus the year earlier that satisfy the C criteria. Its annual earnings (A criteria) growth has not been strong and steady, so it is fundamentally below guidelines of the fact-based investment system.

Reported earnings +45% on +18% sales revenues for the quarter ended September 30, 2011 versus the year ago period. Challenging its 52-week high with a considerable gain today on heavy volume after gapping up. Since noted in the 9/30/11 mid-day report it found support near its 200 DMA line, but its choppy consolidation is not recognized as a sound base pattern. Reported earnings +18% on +11% sales revenues for the quarter ended June 30, 2011 versus the year ago period, below the investment system's guidelines, however its quarterly and annual earnings history (C and A criteria) has otherwise been strong enough to be considered a worthy candidate. TSCO was long ago featured in the June '03 CANSLIM.net News.
