Y - Hit a new 52-week high today with above average volume while rising clear of all resistance due to overhead supply. Its strong +92% earnings increase on +42% sales revenues for the March 31, 2011 ended quarter shows more impressive acceleration. Color code is changed to yellow with a pivot point of $32.05 based on a short "square box" type base pattern. Found support above its 50 DMA line when recently testing support near prior chart highs. It has a good annual earnings (A criteria) history. The M criteria is an overriding concern arguing against new buying efforts until a follow-through day from at least one of the major averages confirms a new rally.

Paused after a streak of consecutive gains, perched at its 52-week high. Volume-driven gains in the past 3 weeks helped it gradually rise from an orderly base pattern since the 5/05/11 mid-day report noted - "Group RS rating currently is D, not reassuring concerning the L criteria. Earnings increase of +46% for the Mar '11 quarter was the first comparison in more than 2 years with a better than +25% increase."

Inching to a new all-time high today. Gapped up on the prior session after reporting +28% earnings on +9% sales revenues for the quarter ended April 30, 2011. Found support near its 50 DMA line. Noted in prior mid-day reports - "Its 4 latest quarterly comparisons (C criteria) showed earnings increases above the +25% minimum guideline while sales revenues increases were in the +1-13% range and gradually accelerating. It is heavily owned by mutual funds already, and top-rated funds owning shares fell from 1,105 in Dec '10 to 1,062 in Mar '11, not a reassuring sign concerning the I criteria. While consumers are fixing their old cars and holding off on new car purchases, AZO and similar players in the auto-repair arena have shown some leadership."

Challenging its 52-week high with today's gain. Following its 5/23/11 mid-day report appearance it technically broke out from the 7-week flat base pattern identified, but it was noted - "This high-ranked leader's earnings and sales revenues showed great increases in recent quarterly comparisons, however it lacks a good steady annual earnings growth history (the A criteria)."

Extended from a sound base pattern without great volume conviction behind most gains in recent weeks, yet rallying today for another new all-time high. Gapped up on 4/05/11 news it would buy Procter & Gamble's Pringles. Strong earnings history in recent years (A criteria), and earnings rose +90% on +40% sales revenues in the quarter ended January 31, 2011 versus the year ago period. Quarterly earning were reported -24% for the Oct '10 period. Small supply of only 22 million outstanding shares (S criteria) could contribute to greater volatility in the event of any institutional maneuvering.

Found support near its 50 DMA line since last noted in the 5/05/11 mid-day report - "Perched at 52-week and multi-year highs today, extended from any sound base pattern. No resistance remains due to overhead supply. Recent quarters showed much better earnings increases with lackluster sales revenues increases versus the year earlier. It found great support near its 50 DMA line while consolidating after the 1/26/11 mid-day report noted - 'Its annual earnings (A criteria) growth has not been strong and steady, so it is fundamentally below guidelines of the fact-based investment system.'"

Holding its ground in a tight trading range and making its 3rd consecutive mid-day report appearance. It has been repeatedly noted as extended from its recent base after spiking to new 52-week highs and multi-year highs (above its 2007 high) with volume-driven gains. Disciplined investors may watch for secondary buy points or a sound new base to develop and be noted in the weeks ahead. A new confirmed rally with follow-through day is also needed as proof the broader market (M criteria) is offering more favorable odds for investors using the fact-based system. Sales revenues and earnings increases (C criteria) have shown impressive acceleration in recent quarterly comparisons. Concern were previously noted because its annual earnings (A criteria) history was up and down, yet recent fundamental and technical action has been a better match for winning models of the fact-based investment system.

Considerable gain today after gapping up for a new all-time high following strong earnings news and positive guidance. Recent quarters showed improving sales revenues and earnings but a downturn in FY '09 earnings is a flaw with respect to the A criteria. It survived but failed to impress since weak technical action prompted it to be dropped from the Featured Stocks list on 1/17/08.

Up from the session's early lows, now perched -2.8% from its 52-week high. Holding its ground above prior highs since its previously noted 5/06/11 technical breakout and additional volume-driven gains. The 5/16/11 mid-day report noted - "Its quarterly earnings (C criteria) increases have been strong but a downturn in FY '09 earnings raises concerns with respect to the A criteria of the fact-based investment system. Based on weak action it was dropped from the Featured Stocks list on 9/29/08 at $7.06 and subsequently fell to $3.25 before rebounding and rallying to new multi-year highs."
