More details about this report...
At around
mid-way through each trading day we run
a screen against our database of
high-ranked stocks, searching for
possible buy candidates that are trading
at or near their 52-week high on above
average volume. The results of that
screen are split into the two sections
you see below. The first, titled
"TODAY's FEATURED STOCKS" shows stocks
that our experts have recently
identified as among the strongest candidates to
consider. Stocks highlighted in yellow
are the most timely and noteworthy, so
particular attention and prompt action
may be appropriate. The second section,
titled "TODAY's BREAKOUT SCREEN" shows
the remainder of stocks meeting today's
screen parameters. Our experts have
reviewed and included notes on these
stocks as well, but found that they may
not match up as favorably.

Reported earnings +22% on +23% sales revenues for the quarter ended March 31, 2012 versus the year ago period, its first quarterly earnings increase below the +25% minimum guideline in more than 2 years.

Consolidating near its 50 DMA line today, its first test of that short-term average since its technical breakout on 3/14/12. It failed to make any progress since last noted in the 4/09/12 mid-day report - "Reported earnings +32% on +9% sales revenues for the quarter ended February 29, 2012 versus the year ago period. Quarterly earnings increases have been above the +25% guideline in the past 8 comparisons, however sales revenues increases have been in the 7-10% range over the past year. A downturn in FY '08 and FY '09 earnings is a flaw concerning the A criteria."

Slumping under its 50 DMA line today following a damaging loss on the prior session with heavy volume. Reported earnings +16% on +16% sales revenues for the Mar '12 quarter. Ownership by top-rated funds rose from 884 in Sep '11 to 892 in Mar '12. Last noted in the 5/07/12 mid-day report - "No resistance remains due to overhead supply and it is hovering near its 52-week high today, extended from prior highs in the $45 area. Earnings have been above the +25% guideline in quarterly comparisons and its annual earnings history has been strong. However, in 5 of the past 8 quarters (through Sep 2011) there are blue triangles beside the earnings figure on the chart service used by our experts - which indicates pre-tax, non-recurring items were included (where possible, such items are normally removed to provide data better suited for comparison)."

FY '11 marked its first profitable year after many years of operating losses. A downward turn in its FY '09 earnings is an obvious flaw with respect to the investment system's A criteria today. It is an interesting turn around story with a small supply of only 20.6 million shares (S criteria) outstanding. Spiking to new 52-week and all-time highs with today's 5th consecutive gain on ever-increasing volume. No resistance remains due to overhead supply. Reported a loss of 3 cents per share for the Mar '12 quarter. The 5/08/12 mid-day report noted - "The Dec '11 quarter showed earnings +383% on +29% sales revenues. However, consensus estimates for FY '12 are calling for earnings to fall -47% from the prior year, a cause for some concern. Prior mid-day reports have noted - 'The Jun and Sep '11 quarters showed strong sales revenues and earnings increases, but prior quarterly and annual earnings history has been up and down, not a match with the fact-based system's guidelines.'"

Holding its ground today near its 52-week high. It proposed a Secondary Offering on 5/07/12, shortly after rallying from a deep one-year cup-with-handle base pattern when noted in the 5/03/12 mid-day report - "Reported earnings +67% on +132% sales revenues for the quarter ended March 31, 2012 versus the year ago period. Its Dec '11 comparison +17% was previously noted as its weakest earnings increase in more than 5 quarterly comparisons and below the +25% minimum guideline.
