Gapped up today, rallying toward its 52-week high. Found support near its 50 DMA line in recent weeks while consolidating since mid-day reports in February this year noted - "It survived but failed to impress since noted in the 10/11/07 mid-day report - 'Decelerating sales revenues and earnings growth is a concern, plus the group is not a leading group (bad L criteria).'"

Hovering near all-time highs after a spurt of volume-driven gains, and no resistance remains due to overhead supply. It found support near its 2007-2008 highs during its recent consolidation below its 50 DMA line. Its erratic earnings history is cause for concern as the downturn in FY '09 earnings is a flaw with respect to the A criteria. Prior mid-day reports including this huge Chinese Oil and Gas Exploration/Production firm noted - "Its 2 most recent quarterly comparisons showed big sales revenues and earnings increases after a streak of at least 6 prior comparisons with earnings ranging from +6% to -54% versus the year ago period, below guidelines of the fact-based investment system."

Up today following a considerable gap up gain with heavy volume on the prior session for a new all-time high on news it would buy Procter & Gamble's Pringles. Strong earnings history in recent years, however quarterly earning were reported -24% for the Oct '10 period. Small supply of only 22 million outstanding shares (S criteria) could contribute to greater volatility in the event of any institutional maneuvering.

Above average volume is behind today's 7th consecutive gain, helping it hit a new 52-week high, rising clear of all resistance due to overhead supply. Recent quarterly earnings increases above the +25% guideline satisfy the C criteria, but its up and down annual earnings (A criteria) history is a concern. Based on weak action it was dropped from the Featured Stocks list on 10/03/08 and fundamentals deteriorated afterward while it slumped from above $21 to as low as $8.57 before rebounding. The latest quarters Jun, Sept, and Dec '10 showed better sales revenues and earnings after at least 4 quarters of negative comparisons.

Extended from its prior base after a spurt of volume driven gains for new 52-week highs. On 3/30/11 it technically broke out of a long flat base while merger news involving Cephalon Inc (CEPH) after Valeant Pharmaceuticals Int'l (VRX) sparked bullish action in the industry. Recent quarterly comparisons for Sept and Dec '10 showed better sales and earnings increases versus the year earlier, but prior quarterly comparisons and annual earnings (A criteria) growth have not been strong and steady enough to meet the investment system guidelines. After a long hiatus, it was noted in the 12/30/10 mid-day report - "Long-ago it was a Featured Stock with favorable characteristics, and it was last noted in the mid-day report on 1/09/06."

Hitting another new all-time high today with a 4th consecutive gain, getting extended from any sound base. The 2 most recent quarters (Sep and Dec '10) showed earnings increases above the +25% guideline but prior increases were sub-par. Ownership by top-rated funds increased from 172 in Mar '10 to 234 in Dec 10, a reassuring sign concerning the I criteria. A previously noted 2/27/11 breakaway gap cleared a sound base pattern formed since noted in the 12/31/10 mid-day report - "Earnings growth history has been below the investment system guidelines."

Pulling back today with heavy volume after a streak of 10 consecutive gains to new all-time high territory. Last noted in the 2/14/11 mid-day report and earlier reports - "Its annual earnings results showed a small downturn in '07, which is a minor flaw concerning the A criteria which calls for 3-5 years of steady earnings growth. Quarterly sales revenues and earnings increases are not solidly meeting the guidelines with respect to the C criteria. The stock is somewhat heavily owned (percentage-wise) by funds relative to its management's small 6% reported ownership. Top-rated funds owning an interest decreased from 605 in Mar '09 to 585 in Sep '10, which is not good news concerning the I criteria (NOTE: Prior notes on this and other stocks cited top-rated US funds, and now our source is including foreign funds and hedge funds in their totals reported)."

Hit a new 52-week high today with a gap up and considerable volume-driven gain. It found support above its 50 DMA line and volume totals cooled during its consolidation since last noted in the 2/28/11 mid-day report - "Held its ground following a considerable gap up gain on 2/01/11 after an analyst upgrade. Recent quarters showed much better sales and earnings increases versus the year earlier. Prior quarterly comparisons and annual earnings (A criteria) growth have not been strong and steady, so it is fundamentally below guidelines of the fact-based investment system. Touched a new all-time high today then reversed into the red. It found support at its 50 DMA line during its consolidation while it endured distributional pressure since last noted in the 3/09/11 mid-day report - "While rising just above previously stubborn resistance in the $13 area, no overhead supply remains to act as resistance. It completed a Public Offering on 12/14/10 after it was noted in a handful of Nov and Dec '10 mid-day reports - 'This low-priced Canadian mining company's considerable gain with heavy volume for a new 52-week high may catch the eye of some technical traders. Its 4 latest quarterly comparisons show strong sales revenues and earnings increases following negative comparisons in the prior 4 quarters. Last noted in the 5/13/10 mid-day report after a then recent surge to new highs, then it subsequently slumped below its 200 DMA line before rebounding impressively. Poor annual earnings (A criteria) history is a fundamental concern.'"

Considerable volume-driven gains helped it rally above prior resistance in the $53 area following a deep "V" shaped consolidation below its 50 DMA line that was noted as not a sound base pattern. Noted in prior mid-day reports - "After a very impressive rally from August '10 lows near $14 and January 2009 low of $3.72 per share.
