More details about this report...
At around
mid-way through each trading day we run
a screen against our database of
high-ranked stocks, searching for
possible buy candidates that are trading
at or near their 52-week high on above
average volume. The results of that
screen are split into the two sections
you see below. The first, titled
"TODAY's FEATURED STOCKS" shows stocks
that our experts have recently
identified as among the strongest candidates to
consider. Stocks highlighted in yellow
are the most timely and noteworthy, so
particular attention and prompt action
may be appropriate. The second section,
titled "TODAY's BREAKOUT SCREEN" shows
the remainder of stocks meeting today's
screen parameters. Our experts have
reviewed and included notes on these
stocks as well, but found that they may
not match up as favorably.

Challenging its 52-week high this week after a short consolidation above its 50 DMA line. A small supply (S criteria) of only 4.42 million shares in the float could contribute to greater volatility. The Finance - Savings & Loan industry group's low Relative Strength rank raises concerns with respect to the L criteria.

Wedging on light volume to a new 52-week high this week on the right side of a very orderly flat base above its 50 DMA line. Fundamental data is showing many years of losses (bad A criteria) for this master limited partnership, while sequential revenue increases and earnings in recent quarters have been very impressive.

Gapped up today for a new 52-week high for a 4th consecutive gain with volume running at an above average pace. It made an impressive positive reversal on 3/22/10 after briefly undercutting its 50 DMA line. The quarter ended Dec 31, 2009 showed better increases after prior quarters showed lower sales revenues than the year ago period. As recently noted, "Annual earnings (A criteria) history is below guidelines of the investment system."

Gapped up for a considerable gain and new 52-week high today after reporting better than expected results for the quarter ended Jan 31, 2010. Extended from any sound base, this Retail - Clothing/Shoe firm has a good annual earnings history (A criteria). Hit a new 52-week high today with its second big gain with above average volume in the past 3 sessions. Its 3/22/10 gain helped it clear a long base that formed since last noted on 11/20/09. Sales and earnings history below guidelines - despite much better earnings in the most recent period, negative sales revenues comparisons are a concern!

Gapped down today, pulling back further following its negative reversal on 3/24/10 after hitting a new 52-week high. It is consolidating above prior chart highs in the $24 area after rising from the recently noted base-on-base type pattern. Sales revenues increased +4% in the quarter ended Dec 31, 2009 after revenue declines in each of the prior 4 quarterly comparisons. Earnings have been much improved in the 3 latest quarterly comparisons, however its up and down annual earnings (A criteria) history makes the Retail - Restaurants firm fall below the guidelines of the investment system.
