Y - Pulling back today following a considerable gap up gain on 8/03/11 for a new all-time high after a 4 week consolidation triggered a technical buy signal. The M criteria remains an overriding concern for disciplined investors, arguing against any new buying efforts until a confirmed uptrend in the major averages resumes. See the latest FSU analysis for more details and an annotated graph.

Gapped up and hit another new 52-week high today then reversed into the red. No resistance remaining due to overhead supply. Quarterly sales revenues and earnings increases in the 4 latest comparisons through June 30, 2011 were well above the +25% guideline satisfying the C criteria. The downturn in FY '09 earnings is a fundamental flaw concerning the A criteria. With respect to the I criteria, the number of top rated funds owning its shares fell from 904 in Mar '11 to 855 in Jun '11. It survived but failed to impress since 4/23/2008 when it was dropped from the Featured Stocks list and subsequently fell from $13 to $3 over the next 6 months. First it had traded up as much as +25.4% after it was first featured at $15.89 in the February 2008 CANSLIM.net News (read here).

Gapped up today rising near its 52-week high. No resistance remaining due to overhead supply. Stubbornly held its ground well above its 50 DMA line since its 6/23/11 technical breakout and earlier bullish action as it rose into the double digits. Prior mid-day reports repeatedly noted - "Recent quarterly comparisons show sales revenues and earnings improving after a streak of negative comparisons after a downturn and loss in FY '09. Erratic earnings history makes it, fundamentally, below the investment system guidelines."

Consolidating in tight range since 6/29/11 news it is to be acquired by Leonard Green Partners and CVC for $51.25 per shares. Unimpressive sales growth and annual earnings history (A criteria) are concerns, while its latest quarterly earnings increase of +26% on +10% sales revenues for the April '11 period was its first comparison above the +25% earnings guideline in years.

Pulling back today from the new all-time high hit on the prior session. A considerable gap up on 7/28/11 came after reporting earnings +133% on +127% sales revenues for the quarter ended June 30, 2011 versus the year ago period. Bullish action has continued while it rarely and briefly paused to consolidate since last noted in the 5/23/11 mid-day report - "Inching higher today for new all-time high and it could go on to produce more climactic gains.. It completed a Public Offering on 5/05/11 and technically formed an advanced '3-weeks tight' pattern, however a new pivot point is not being cited. It is trading +80% above its 200 DMA line, which serves as a reminder for investors to watch out for sell signals more than having a bias toward any new buying efforts. Reported earnings +129% on +101% sales revenues for the quarter ended March 31, 2011 versus the year ago period. Held its ground following its considerable gap up on 3/10/11 after news of a deal with Starbucks Corp (SBUX). It has maintained a very strong sales revenues and earnings growth history solidly satisfying the C and A criteria. This previously featured leader was dropped from the Featured Stocks list on 10/01/10."

Rallying above its 50 DMA line today following a quiet consolidation since recently rallying above its 2008 high ($71.16) to reach new all-time high territory. Annual earnings (A criteria) history has been steady but estimates are calling for -15% earnings for FY '11. Quarterly comparisons show earnings increases near the +25% guideline but sub par sales growth is a concern.

Perched near its 52-week high today following 3 consecutive volume-driven gains, and no overhead supply remains to act as resistance. Completed an additional Public Offering on 2/03/11. It may be an interesting turn-around story, and recent quarters earnings increases were strong, however sales revenues increases in the +10-12% range have been below the fact-based investment system's guidelines.

Still holding its ground stubbornly after previously noted volume-driven gains. Its considerable breakaway gap up on 7/29/11 for a new 52-week high, technically cleared a long base pattern, and it was noted in the mid-day report - "Earnings increased by +125% on +26% sales revenues for the quarter ended June 30, 2011. Showing impressive sequential acceleration in recent quarterly comparisons, but prior quarterly comparisons showed lackluster sales revenues increases well below the +25% guideline, leaving some fundamental concerns."
