More details about this report...
At around
mid-way through each trading day we run
a screen against our database of
high-ranked stocks, searching for
possible buy candidates that are trading
at or near their 52-week high on above
average volume. The results of that
screen are split into the two sections
you see below. The first, titled
"TODAY's FEATURED STOCKS" shows stocks
that our experts have recently
identified as among the strongest candidates to
consider. Stocks highlighted in yellow
are the most timely and noteworthy, so
particular attention and prompt action
may be appropriate. The second section,
titled "TODAY's BREAKOUT SCREEN" shows
the remainder of stocks meeting today's
screen parameters. Our experts have
reviewed and included notes on these
stocks as well, but found that they may
not match up as favorably.

Building a base above the previously noted 6-month cup shaped base. Reported earnings +211% on +32% sales revenues for the quarter ended March 31, 2012 versus the year ago period. It had reported earnings -13% on -4% sales revenues for the quarter ended December 31, 2011 versus the year ago period, creating a flaw concerning the C criteria. Consensus estimates call for earnings -1% in FY '12, yet its annual earnings (A criteria) growth has been improving nicely since a loss in FY '07.

Today's 4th consecutive small loss has it slumping below its 50 DMA line, yet still trading within -7% of its 52-week high. Reported earnings +21% on +15% sales revenues for the Mar '12 quarter, continuing to show signs of earnings growth rate deceleration. Last noted in the 2/01/12 mid-day report - "No resistance remains due to overhead supply. Earnings have been strong in quarterly comparisons through Dec '11 but sales revenues growth has shown sequential deceleration. Slumped way below its 200 DMA line during its deep consolidation since noted in the 7/26/11 mid-day report - 'The 3 most recent quarterly earnings increases were above the +25% guideline, but prior comparisons versus the year ago periods were negative. Based on weak technical action it was dropped from the Featured Stocks list on 9/04/08, then subsequently slumped from $44 to $24 before rebounding. Downturn in FY '09 earnings (A criteria) makes it fall below guidelines.'"

Churning heavy volume this week without making meaningful price progress, a sign it is enduring distributional pressure amid widespread market (M criteria) weakness. It has not formed a sound base, yet it found support at its 50 DMA line and extended its rally from prior highs in the $120 area since noted in the 4/19/12 mid-day report - "Quarterly sales revenues and earnings growth has been in line with the investment system's guidelines concerning the C criteria. Annual earnings growth has been strong following a dip in its FY '09 earnings."
